Head of IT & CybersecurityA hands-on leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for corporate IT and cybersecurity at IS-Wireless.25,000–50,000 PLN / monthHybrid · Piaseczno (near Warsaw)B2B, employment contract or mixed

Salary: We do not operate within rigid salary bands. We want to learn about your expectations. For guidance: the candidates we are currently speaking with most often indicate a level of 25,000–50,000 PLN per month. We present each expectation to the company individually.

Location: Hybrid model, Piaseczno (near Warsaw). Candidates living outside Masovia can work remotely after onboarding, with regular trips to Piaseczno.

Contract type: B2B, employment contract, or a mixed model.

This is a hands-on leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for corporate IT and cybersecurity at IS-Wireless. The final role title — Head, Director of IT Security, or IT & Security Leader — will reflect your experience, the scope of leadership responsibility, and the value you bring to the company.

You will define how the company’s infrastructure, networks, systems, identity, employee technology and security processes should work. You will assess the current environment, design the target architecture, establish a risk-based roadmap and drive its implementation with internal specialists and external partners.

We are looking for a senior technical owner who can make architecture and technology decisions, solve complex problems and build a function that scales with the company.

Why this role?

IS-Wireless develops ultra-resilient and resource-efficient 5G networks for industrial and tactical applications. We hold 10+ patents, received the EIC Seal of Excellence and were selected as a NATO DIANA 2025 innovator.

As the company grows, our internal IT and security environment must grow with it. We need one person who can connect infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity and business risk — and turn them into clear priorities, reliable processes and measurable improvements.

You will be the primary owner of the corporate IT and cybersecurity domain. You will work with IT specialists, employees, engineering teams, management, suppliers, consultants and auditors. You will not be expected to perform every task personally, but you will decide what needs to be done, what should remain in-house and where external expertise should be used.

Your mission

  • Define and drive the corporate IT and cybersecurity strategy, target architecture and risk-based roadmap.
  • Strengthen the company’s networks, internal infrastructure, identity and access controls, employee technology and remote-access environment.
  • Establish effective IT operations, including provisioning, onboarding and offboarding, patching, monitoring, backup, recovery, inventory and change management.
  • Build practical cybersecurity processes covering risk, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, access governance, business continuity and employee awareness.
  • Coordinate internal specialists and external providers, establish measurable IT and security KPIs and communicate material risks, priorities and progress to management.

What you will own

  • IT architecture and infrastructure. You will define standards and architecture for LAN/WAN, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN, Zero Trust, DNS, DHCP, remote access and internal network segmentation. You will also oversee servers, Linux environments, virtualisation, storage, internal services and the reliability and availability of the company’s IT environment.
  • Identity, access and employee technology. You will establish clear principles for identity and access management, least privilege, privileged access, periodic access reviews and the joiner–mover–leaver lifecycle. You will define standards for employee devices, operating systems, software, access rights and the IT asset lifecycle.
  • IT operations and support. You will organise effective first- and second-line support and introduce repeatable operational processes. This includes provisioning, onboarding and offboarding, asset inventory, patching, monitoring, backup, recovery, documentation and change management.
  • Corporate cybersecurity. You will define company-wide policies, standards, procedures and technical controls. You will own the approach to network security, Zero Trust, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery and business continuity from the cybersecurity perspective.
  • Risk, compliance and external partners. You will coordinate risk assessments, audits, penetration tests and external security support. You will translate requirements such as ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST and applicable EU regulations into practical priorities suited to the company’s scale, risk profile and business needs.

What we need

Must-have:

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, enterprise networking, cybersecurity or a closely related area, including significant ownership of architecture, priorities or operational outcomes.
  • Strong hands-on understanding of enterprise IT and network architecture, including Linux, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, segmentation, remote access, virtualisation and internal infrastructure services.
  • Practical experience with identity and access management, least privilege, privileged accounts, employee lifecycle controls and access reviews.
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity policies, technical controls and operational processes such as vulnerability management, monitoring, incident response, backup or disaster recovery.
  • Ability to combine strategic planning with technical problem-solving, coordinate internal and external specialists and communicate risks and priorities to management.
  • Very good written and spoken English is required.

Strong advantages:

  • Experience implementing or preparing an organisation for ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST or a comparable security framework.
  • Knowledge of cloud, Kubernetes, container security, secure development or software supply-chain security.
  • Experience in a deep-tech, telecommunications, critical-infrastructure, public-safety or defence-related environment.

Product Security experience is welcome but is not the main focus of this role. Product-related security remains primarily within the business and Product Management domain; this position may contribute where corporate IT, infrastructure or cybersecurity responsibilities overlap.

What success looks like

During your first 90 days, you will build a reliable picture of the current environment before proposing major changes. You will review infrastructure, network architecture, systems, assets, identities, access, suppliers, backups, operational processes and security risks. You will identify urgent gaps, quick wins and the decisions that require management involvement.

Over the following months, success means:

  • a clear target architecture and a prioritised 6–12 month IT and cybersecurity roadmap;
  • reliable asset, access and infrastructure documentation;
  • stronger network segmentation, remote access and privileged-access controls;
  • repeatable onboarding, offboarding, patching, backup, recovery and change processes;
  • functioning vulnerability, monitoring and incident-management processes;
  • clear ownership between internal teams and external providers;
  • measurable IT and security KPIs and transparent reporting to management;
  • an IT and cybersecurity function able to support the company’s continued growth.

What you gain

  • You will shape the corporate IT and cybersecurity function rather than inherit a narrow delivery role.
  • You will define the architecture, priorities and operating model for a technically advanced organisation.
  • You will work alongside specialists in telecommunications, software engineering, systems architecture, DevOps, testing and R&D.
  • Mission-driven context: IS-Wireless technology supports resilient connectivity for industrial and tactical applications.
  • Eligibility for a stock option plan based on long-term commitment and performance.
  • Hybrid setup: regular collaboration from our Piaseczno office, adjusted to project and business needs.

How we work

  • Loyalty & team spirit — we have each other’s backs, always.
  • Sincerity & openness — we say what we think, even when it’s uncomfortable.
  • Courage & ambition — we take positions, defend them, and aim high.
  • “How can I help?” attitude — we help because we want to, not because we have to.
  • Out of the comfort zone — we build things that haven’t been built before. That’s the point.
  • Zero-latency — we act. No waiting, no procrastinating, no excuses.
